Experience Glamping Amidst Three Volcanoes and Hike to the Crater
We will sleep comfortably among giants so that the next day we can embark on an incredible hike to the edge of the Santa Ana Volcano crater with an experienced guide.
El Salvador is the country with the highest number of volcanoes per square kilometer in the world. Volcanes National Park has been declared a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve. It consists of three main volcanoes and a volcanic lake. We will also have the experience of camping outdoors with "glamping" comforts amidst the three volcanoes at 1,800 meters above sea level. One of these volcanoes is Izalco, formerly known as the "Pacific Lighthouse," because in the 1800s and early 1900s, ships navigating the Salvadoran coasts used the glowing lava from its crater as a guide. Early in the morning, we will hike to Santa Ana Volcano, where we will admire its sulfur lagoon and enjoy stunning views of the other volcanoes, Lake Coatepeque, and the Pacific Ocean.
