Visit an Archaeological Site along with an archaeologist

El Salvador is home to a unique archaeological site within the Maya world: Joya de Cerén, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Explore it with a Salvadoran archaeologist and learn about the daily life of ordinary people who lived 1,400 years ago in what is now El Salvador.

Joya de Cerén is known as the "Pompeii of the Americas," as it was also a village buried under the ash from the eruption of the Caldera volcano back in 600 AD. This now allows us to witness the everyday life of ordinary Maya people from 1,400 years ago, making it a one-of-a-kind site in the Maya World. The Salvadoran archaeologist will guide us through the site and share the history of their discoveries.
