DESCRIPTION

You will first do the brief paperwork that will allow you to exit airport without paying taxes.  El Salvador is part of the Mayan World, and in this tour we will visit its main archaeological sites. Joya de Cerén was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1993, and it is known as the “Pompeii of the Americas”. This agricultural community was buried by the ashes of Caldera Volcano back in 600 AD. Thanks to the excellent preservation, this site allows us to witness the everyday lives of the Mesoamerican agricultures of such time period. There is also a comprehensive museum on site. Then, we will continue to San Andres archaeological site, an important political, cultural and religious center. Walk through the site and admire the semi buried pyramids and visit the comprehensive museum on site.  Return to airport for connecting flight.
