The blue of our oceans, rivers and lakes: This itinerary includes releasing baby sea turtles into the ocean, a boat tour through an estuary, a rural school experience, a surfing class and beautiful beachfront hotels:

Today you will be heading to Eastern El Salvador which offers beautiful beaches along with authentic experiences. You will enjoy a boat tour within the waters of the Gulf of Fonseca, witnessing the daily life of the local fishermen. Then, a stop at one of the islands for a swim and a picnic style lunch. Night in a boutique beachfront hotel in Eastern El Salvador.

El Icacal is one of the best beaches in El Salvador. First, you will learn about the conservation efforts of a sea turtle nursery. Four species of sea turtles nest in this pristine beach. The local nursery keeper will provide a lecture and then you will be able to help release baby sea turtles into the Pacific Ocean. The area also offers a beautiful estuary. Then, you will visit a local rural school that is sponsored by our nonprofit organization Share Smiles, which supports communities in areas with tourism potential. Night in Eastern El Salvador.

After checkout the next stop is Jiquilisco Bay, a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve. It represents a transit point for at least 87 species of migratory birds, and holds a wonderful variety of mangroves. You will first walk through the forest to spot wildlife including a community of spider monkeys. Continue to a cacao plantation where you will learn about chocolate production. El Salvador harvests criollo cacao, which is of the highest quality in the world. In the afternoon, a boat ride through the bay to see the sunset. Night in Jiquilisco Bay.

After checkout continue to the Central Beaches of El Salvador. El Salvador is in the TOP 10 in the world for surfing, and several important breaks are located in this area; a great opportunity for a surf class along with a local surf expert.
